Grant Opportunities

Every year thousands of international students pursue academic studies at a university within the United States. The complex diversity of the American educational system often offers foreign students a wider range of learning opportunities than they would find at home and gives them the chance to pursue advanced study programs to which they may otherwise not have access.

USEC offers a variety of grants to students attending four-year colleges or universities, community colleges, and career schools. There are various grant opportunities available for candidates:

1. USEC Tuition Grant Program:

The USEC Tuition Grant Program provides need-based grants to low-income undergraduate and certain postbaccalaureate students to promote access to postsecondary education. USEC Tuition Grant Program, unlike a loan, does not have to be repaid.

2. Open grant:

To avail an open grant you must go through a process involving intense competition among all the candidates. There is no restriction upon who applies for open grant. Following are eligible to apply for grants:

  • Individuals
  • Institutions of Higher Education
  • Local Education Agencies
  • Nonprofit Organizations
  • Other Organizations and/or Agencies
  • State Education Agencies
